It’s February, which means there may be some important days heading your way – and I don’t mean Valentines!
Many of you may be holding offers to start uni in September (congratulations) and February means the start of Applicant Visit Days at Edge Hill.
What is an Applicant Visit Day?
You may have an email or two asking you to attend one, but what are they? If you’re holding an offer for a course that doesn’t involve an interview/audition then a Visit Day gives you the chance to spend some time with your department at Edge Hill and learn a little more about being a student here.
Why should I go to a Visit Day?
Great question. Although you may have attended an Open Day that made you apply to Edge Hill, an Applicant Visit Day is different for a few reasons.
1. It’s tailored to your course – this means you’ll get a few more insights, I guarantee you will have thought of a few questions since you last visited Edge Hill
2. It gives you the chance to meet your tutors and classmates – One of the things students worry about most is meeting new people when they come to uni, I was exactly the same. A Visit Day means you’ll meet the tutors who will be lecturing you in September, and it never hurts to be able to recognise a few faces if you get lost and arrive late to your first lecture. . .
3. You get a taster session for your subject before September! This is invaluable, not only will you meet people you’ll potentially be classmates with for the course of your degree, you’ll get to understand a little more about how university works, how seminars will differ from the classes you have now and be prepared for what to expect when you become an Edge Hill Student.
4. You’ll get to visit Edge Hill again! If you’re anything like me you probably fell in love with Edge Hill’s campus the moment you saw it and have been dying to go back ever since. This is the best opportunity, and it’s super useful as well!
When are Applicant Visit Days?
If you want to come and experience Edge Hill whether for the first or tenth time, and learn a little more about your course while you’re at it then you can find out when Applicant Visit Days are for your subject and how to book here.
If you have any questions about Applicant Visit Days leave a comment and I will be more than happy to help you out! The best advice I can give is come along to one if you can.
