Peer Mentors

So as I have mentioned before, within the Performing Arts, you will allocated a Peer Mentor during your first week. This is someone who has been through what you are going through and can offer you help and advice.

One thing that is important to remember is that they are not just there for your first week. They are there for you for the whole year. If you come back to University in January and feel that you need some help or advice with something then these mentors will still be there for you.

You should never feel embarrassed or worried to ask them about anything as the chances are they have been feeling the same or known of someone who has.

You can ask them about anything from nights out to assignments and even if they don’t know the answers straight away they can ask the correct person or point you in the right direction.

However, just as you can feel free to speak to them at any point, you shouldn’t feel obliged to ask them anything. However, if they are messaging you or trying to contact you please make sure you are polite as they are trying to make sure you are enjoying your first year as much as possible.

Peer mentors aren’t just for Christmas, they are here for you the whole year!
