With Ormskirk being so closely connected to Liverpool and not too far a train journey to Manchester either, most students/people go there to see the Christmas markets. They have some of the cutest little stalls with some really cute Christmas present ideas! Along with some festive cider and little marsh-mellow chocolates! I have literally just come back from a few days in Berlin and trust me when I say they are the exact replica of the actual German markets.
In fact, Edge Hill did a mini Christmas market in Hale Hall and The Hub the other week! There was loads of stalls, with business’s themselves from Ormskirk, it was great, everyone was really getting into the Christmas spirit, which makes the uni feel like a second home.
But soon it’s my last drive home from uni to go home for Christmas. There’s no better feeing than knowing you can go home and be proud to have finished the 1st semester!
Some courses, like mine, have exams in January, but it’s okay don’t be put off because you still get to enjoy Christmas! You just have to split your time and manage it effectively. For those of you, for example potential Erasmus students, who are reading this and know full well that you will have to celebrate it at the University… don’t be worried. Edge Hill really tries to include everybody in the celebrations. That’s probably one of the reasons we were voted University of the year! 🙂
