This weekend I’m going to see the new hunger games film with one of the societies from the university, which will be a great laugh! 🙂 Joining societies on campus is a great way of making new friends and meeting people – I’m in the LGBT+ society and they have regular meetings on a weekly basis where people can go along and have cake and a chat for a couple of hours to discuss any topics that seem relevant or need/want to be discussed by anyone.
In terms of social activities, we went to a Laser Tag game in St Helens with Chester University’s LGBT society. It was a fantastic day out where the societies got to meet up and know each other, as well as have a friendly game of laser tag (I won one of the games, just saying! :P).
There are also places in Liverpool to go and visit, such as the gardens and shopping centres with coffee shops and places to chill. There are of course loads of night clubs and places to party in and around Liverpool, but for those who prefer a quiet night out or a few drinks in a pub, there’s plenty of places too.
On Saturday we’re planning on seeing the film in the Odeon in Liverpool One, which is only a half hour train journey from Ormskirk and then a five minute walk from Central to the cinema – everything is nearby and fairly easy to find in the city centre, but I imagine it will be pretty busy in the coming weeks with Christmas shopping and the holidays coming up! 🙂
