My name is Stuart Gould and I’ve been working in IT Services since March 2006, before that I spent 3 years working for Learning Services over in the LINC. I’m a Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert, Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer and Microsoft Certified IT Professional, having currently completed 13 Microsoft exams.
I’ve recently moved from Technical Services to my current role in Infrastructure Solutions. In my new role I’m responsible for supporting a wide range of systems including Active Directory, VMware and Email. I have been heavily involved in Active Directory/Windows 7 project. I was the IT Services lead for the Student Windows 7 rollout which was successfully completed last summer. I’ve also worked on the Sun Ray project during the initial setup and configuration stage following the initial deployment to the Faculty of Health building. I also lead a project to install System Centre Configuration Manager last summer.
The majority of my daily duties involve working with the rest of Infrastructure Solutions to provide 3rd line support to our staff by responding to helpdesk calls or monitoring systems and servers. I am also involved in the development of new systems and services and am currently working on phase 2 of the Active Directory project and the new Office 365 staff email system.
In my spare time I enjoy photography, I run a website dedicated to my photos which is proving to be very successful. I enjoy watching movies and Japanese Anime. I listen to a wide range of music and especially like metal, rock and indie. I also enjoy online gaming on the PC and I’m a bit of a console junkie spending far too much time on the X-Box.
