On 25 March 2021, the final-year EHU BA History class, ‘Empire & the War for the Holy Land’, ran an international one-day conference on the history of the British Mandate for Palestine, from 1923-1948. World-leading voices in research gathered to share their expertise, from Birzeit, George Washington, Sussex, Manchester, Limerick, Wright State, Brunel, SOAS, and, of course, Edge Hill.

You can now watch the video of the opening session, delivered by Dr Sarah Irving, Edge Hill University, and chaired by Shannon Rowe. Race is an important aspect of the new scholarship on this subject, and for this reason the conference was organised in partnership with the ICR.
