In the short time that ICE have employed 12 film and media trainees for 21 Media, they are already making their mark. The filmmaker’s first project was working with Carl Hunter creating a short film using images from Carl’s lockdown collection. The film was shown at The Gravity Festival, for the Reader charity and accompanied by sonnets read by Jacqueline Saphra taken from her book “One Hundred Lockdown Sonnets”.

The filmmakers were also lucky enough to attend “In Conversation with John Sweeney.” John is an award winning journalist and chart topping podcaster who regalled with his stories of Ghislaine Maxwell, Boris Johnson and Donald Trump amongst others.

21 Media’s latest project has provided an amazing opportunity to work with Jessica Hynes and acclaimed DOP, Ryan Eddleston. The filmmakers formed a second unit to shoot a short film to promote the charity Dramatic Recovery. All aspects of working as part of a crew were experienced with some of the team shadowing the first unit on camera, sound and script editing. Dramatic recovery is an award winning mental health arts organisation who socially prescribe drama and creative writing as an alternative to prescription drugs. What an amazing opportunity and learning curve for 21 Media! Their CV’s are growing and their next stop is on a feature film being shot in Ireland!
