You can find out more about the entries and the prize here: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.anthonyburgess.org\/observeranthony-burgess-prize-arts-journalism\/entries\/\">Longlist &#8211; The International Anthony Burgess Foundation<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Also, Julia&#8217;s short story &#8216;Open Evening&#8217; (which won the Edge Hill MA Prize) has won 3rd prize in the Parracombe Short Story Competition 2026, run by an arts centre \/ artists&#8217; community in North Devon. The story will be published in this year&#8217;s anthology<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"300\" height=\"265\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.edgehill.ac.uk\/fin\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/408\/2024\/10\/Julia-Clayton-Edge-Hill-MA-Prize.jpg\" alt=\"A person\" class=\"wp-image-77\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><br>Elizabeth Baines&#8217;s short story collection Five Different Stories About One Thing is now available to buy here: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.confingopublishing.uk\/\">Confingo Publishing | Manchester Book Publisher<\/a> and she will have a launch in Manchester on 27th May.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"200\" height=\"250\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.edgehill.ac.uk\/fin\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/408\/2026\/03\/PastedGraphic-3-1.jpeg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-188\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Dr Kim Wiltshire has a new short story in The Amphibian magazine called &#8216;The Only Place She Ever Lived&#8217; (<a href=\"https:\/\/theamphibianlit.wordpress.com\/\">The Amphibian Literary and Art Journal \u2013 for the culturally amphibious<\/a>) and her short creative non-fiction piece, &#8216;Going Home&#8217; will be published in Spring 2026 in Antenna, the new journal from University of Lisbon, more info here: https:\/\/humanidadesmedicas.letras.ulisboa.pt\/pt\/revista-antena\/<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Despite the Easter break, we&#8217;ve still got a lot happening this month in FiN!
