We will be celebrating 20 years of the Edge Hill Short Story Prize at the Arts Centre, Edge Hill University, on March 17th starting at 7pm.

The evening will see Prof. Ailsa Cox, the world’s only professor of the short story and Edge Hill’s Professor Emerita, opening the evening with a discussion about the importance of the prize and the short story as a form of creative writing, which Edge Hill as a university is most well known for. We will have readings from past MA short story winners, Carys Bray (Sweet Home, A Song for Issy Bradley) and Julia Clayton, as well as a tribute to Carol Fenlon, a founding member of this group and the first person to receive a PhD in Creative Writing when Edge Hill became a university, who sadly died earlier this month.

The second half will include a reading from Tessa Hadley alongside a Q&A session for the audience.
