With the teaching over for another (academic) year, we’ve got time to take a breather and look at what is coming up for the Fiction Writer’s Network in the next few months.
Ailsa Cox’s story ‘Poltergeist’, which the network workshopped earlier in the year, will be published in the next issue of the Manchester Review, due at the end of June, so please do look out for that! Issue 26 – Th https://www.themanchesterreview.co.uk/e Manchester ReviewThe Manchester Review
Elizabeth Baines has two publications coming up: a collaborative mini-collection from Confingo, Five Different Stories About One Thing, hopefully due out in the autumn, and a collection from Gold SF, The Mountain and Other Stories, which includes a novella, which will come out next year.

Talking of Gold SF, a reminder that AJ Ashworth’s collection Maybe the Birds comes out on 19th August – more info here: https://www.penguinrandomhouse.com/series/GP4/goldsmiths-press–gold-sf/
And of course, we will be holding the launch of that collection here at Edge Hill University on October 21st in the Arts Centre – so get those dates in your diaries!!
In other Events news, there will be an online event with ENSFR authors celebrating recent publications, 6-8 p.m. on June 24th, which hasn’t gone onto the ENSFR website yet but should do soon. Ailsa Cox will be interviewed about Precipitation and Chris Rose might be another familiar face to some of you. Finally, hold the date for the ENSFR conference in France in 2026, planned for 11-13th June – we will update with CFP and more information nearer the time.
We wish everyone a great summer, and see you all in the autumn!
