Got so many things to sort out still!

In preparation for starting my third and final year at Edge Hill!

Yesterday I ordered some new stationery! I tried to resist but I failed. I love stationery and the stuff that I saw was just awesome. Woop. Here’s a picture of one of my items, a new pencil case 🙂

And I have a lever arch, diary, notebook, pens and book marks that match ^ on the way too. Love them sooo much! Really raring to go and cannot wait to get back! Super excited and I have no idea why. It’s going to be really really hard work!!

Still need to decide on what I am going to be taking back with me as my room is minuscule this year.

Can’t believe it’s now my final year… It’s gone so fast!

I hate my phone

I really really really hate it!

I’m trying to figure out if I would be able to afford at least a half decent phone when I go back to uni but I dunno.

I always manage to run out of money because I don’t really get that much.

It sucks.  I really need a job!

Plus I’m not going to have the internet in the new house for at least a week when I eventually move in, so it would be good be able to have some decent internet data to use up!

It’s really hard trying to figure out a budget for your money!

Travelled back to Ormskirk

to pick up my keys for  the new house and to check it out again!

Because last year I had the biggest bedroom in the house this year I am going to be having the smallest… And oh my it’s tiny!! Dunno what I am going to do with all of my stuff! I’m looking forward to it though plus the rent is only going to be £57 per week (minus gas and electric obvs)

But yay woop.

Still haven’t gotten my loan information back yet…

So irritating.

Because the student finance website messed up my application I had to get some forms and fill in all of my parents information on it and then send it off. I did this at the beginning of August and I still haven’t heard anything back. Gahh just want it to be sorted. If I haven’t heard from them by the middle of September I’m going to be getting worried. I can’t imagine that it should take too much longer to get it sorted. Hopefully. I mean it took less than a month for me to get my wrong loan information back. So fingers crossed.

I keep trying to ask them on Twitter if they could give me a guesstimate but they’re just ignoring me. I don’t know whether or not to ring them or anything to try and check. Decisions, decisions, decisions. I’ll keep you posted.

House situation

Well I think that I have mentioned before about how 2 of my friends that I lived with last year have decided to just commute to university next year. So me and my other friend had to try and find 2 other people to live with us. We managed to find 1 other so now our landlord has found someone else. So basically we are going to be living with someone that we don’t know. Again!!

I was really curious as to who the new person is going to be so I asked my landlord if she could tell us because we had a bad feeling that it was going to be a boy! But luckily it’s a girl.
I think that I found her on Facebook so I dropped her a message and added her as a friend. I hope she replies etc. so that I can get to know her a bit before we all move in.

I’m a bit awkward when it comes to meeting people for the very first time because I’m pretty rubbish at making decent conversations so hopefully we can get chatting before we meet in person!

One of the main points about university is meeting new people anyway so looking forward to it!

Applied for a Job

Right, after applying for loads of jobs and then getting annoyed at not getting anything back I’ve applied for ANOTHER job.

Okay, so I am signed up to Edge Hill’s Job Club and they are advertising a job going in the library. So I think that that is awesome so I’ve applied for it. I spend a lot of time in the library anyway so why not? Plus I have secretly always wanted to work in a library so if I get it it should be good. I hope I get it.

It’ll be two nights a week 9pm-12am which isn’t too bad either and usually just spend that time at night being lazy so it’ll make me be productive.

Plus it’s money that every student needs.  AND if I get it, it means experience and that may enhance my chances of working in a library after university which is a step forward isn’t it.

Words cannot explain how much I hate the Student Finance website.

Yeh, okay so basically I filled all the information in and saved it etc. And I went back on it last week to input my mum and dads yearly income and for some reason my application has messed up and like been sent off. Sooo I have gone through it again but it won’t let me change my parent’s income…

Stressed out!!

I’m guessing I am going to have to wait until they send me all the paperwork back before I can change any details….

Urgh, every single year I have some issue with the website. It’s really annoying and I don’t understand why it is such a rubbish system…

Exciting stuff and we need your help!

Okay so as I am studying Film Studies and I obviously very interested in filmmaking; my boyfriend is too. And he has been given the opportuity to make a documentary for an American World Record Roller Coaster Rider! So as you will all be told when you get to university, and probably have already been told at school and college; Work Experience is really really important and useful! So yes! This documentary is a form of work experience!!

Okay, so it is all very busy and exciting.

The documentary is being filmed in Blackpool at the Pleasure Beach. Here is a more detailed synopsis:

“Richard Rodriguez is an American university lecturer with an eccentric hobby: he is the ‘King of the Rollercoasters.’ Rodriguez first broke the record for the world’s longest rollercoaster ride in 1977, at the age of nineteen. Fast forward to 2012, Rodriguez takes insulin four times a day, has partial paralysis of the legs, and is about to retire from ‘marathoning’ for good; but not before breaking his own record one last time by riding the Pepsi Max Big One in Blackpool for over 100 days.

In the style of Louis Theroux and eclectic documentaries akin to ‘The King of Kong,’debut documentarian Ashok Baker follows Rodriguez on his final record breaking attempt, while peeking behind the veil at the sub-culture of ‘rollerphiles’ and their love of the man-made monuments to thrills. Baker also tries to uncover what attracted Rodriguez to rollercoasters, and examines the remarkable connections and friendships he has made during his thirty-five years on the rails.”

So it sounds really good doesn’t it!

One tiny tiny issue though, we need funding to help make the production run as smooth as possible! So that is where you guys come in! If all of you could just contribute £1 (or more if you can afford it!) it would be much appreciated, everyone will be credited with a backing or thanks credit at least! The more you donate the more you get!

Help us make this documentary!

It’ll be one step closer to helping us achieve our future careers!

Okay so to sponsor! Just click here, it is dead easy and secure I’ve just donated £5 😀  http://www.sponsume.com/project/sideshow-seashore

Thank you in advance!

I really need a car

but because I am currently a student no where seems to want to hire me just over the summer. It’s such a pain, I’m getting really tired of looking and applying for jobs at the moment. I’ve been doing it since January! Urgh. I have my student loan but I am trying to save that for next year so that I’m not worrying about money all the time, as well as saving it for train fair as my boyfriend should be living in Manchester so I will  be travelling further to go and visit him at the weekends. Another reason why I need a car!

I’ve been trying to figure out how I could get one without being poor. So far I have come up with; continuing to apply for jobs and hopefully get one, buy a really cheap second hand car and then pay for my insurance monthly so that I can budget around it. But I’m really not sure.

If anyone has any jobs going in the Blackpool area give me a shout, I’m desperate!

House for next year.

Well as you may know after being a first year at Edge Hill University you cannot live in halls for your second and third year, because there just isn’t enough room.

This year was my second year so I lived in a house in Ormskirk with three of my friends and then another boy who had lived in the house a year before.

We didn’t really get along too well with the boy as he was really dirty, messy and he was very strange. So at the end of this year we were all like “yay, next year is going to be awesome!”

However, we are moving into another house as one of our friends has decided to commute for third year as she thinks that it will be cheaper for her. So we are going to move into a four bedroomed house instead of staying in the five bedroomed house so that we only need to find one person to live with us and not two (because the boy won’t be with us either next year)

But, a few days ago our land lord text messaged me and one of my friends to say that our other friend has given her notice and that she is not going to be living with us next year… Now. This has really upset me as she didn’t mention it to us and now we have to try and find someone else to move in with us at short notice or else we might get stuck with someone that we might not get along with again.

Now, our landlady has recieved a phone call off a girl that wants the room. But my friend, who is living in the house next year, had a lot of trouble with this girl in first year and our land lord isn’t responding to her texts.

I’m getting a bit annoyed because we have asked more people to live with us and our land lord better let one of them have the room instead of the other girl or I’m not going to be happy at all because I really can’t be bothered with trouble starting.

Why are things never simple? I’m so stressed out!
