Did the \u2018napkin of death\u2019 do its job?<\/p>\n
Ever since Karen, Brian, Milija and I travelled to\u00a0Belgrade for Eurovsion back in 2008, we have attempted to predict who we think will survive the semi-final phase of the ESC, and make it to the grand final. This started with pen and a napkin (duh) over dinner, and so a ritual was established. We try to be flashy and do it on a laptop, but it’s just not the same.<\/p>\n
Apologies for posting the votes from \u2018team Oslo\u2019 a day late. We did rather well last year, but I think that my lack of Eurovision mojo is reflected in my success last night!\u00a0\u00a0Here are our predictions. For this semi-final it’s Karen, Apostolos,\u00a0Milija and myself \u00a0predicting that the following\u00a0would go through\u2026<\/p>\n
\u00a001 MOLDOVA<\/strong><\/p>\n \u00a0We all said YES! We were all right!<\/p>\n \u00a002 RUSSIA<\/strong><\/p>\n \u00a0I was the only one to say no. I got it wrong (swapped it for Estonia at the last minute!).<\/p>\n \u00a003 ESTONIA<\/strong><\/p>\n \u00a0Apostolos and I said YES \u2013 we were wrong!<\/p>\n \u00a004 SLOVAKIA<\/strong><\/p>\n \u00a0We all said YES \u2013 we were all wrong!<\/p>\n \u00a0o5 FINLAND<\/strong><\/p>\n \u00a0We all said YES \u2013 we were all wrong!<\/p>\n \u00a006 LATVIA<\/strong><\/p>\n \u00a0I said YES \u2013 and guess what, I was wrong!<\/p>\n \u00a007 SERBIA<\/strong><\/p>\n \u00a0We all said YES \u2013 and we were all RIGHT!<\/p>\n \u00a008 BOSNIA & HERZEGOVINA<\/strong><\/p>\n \u00a0I was the only one to say NO \u2013 and I was wrong!<\/p>\n \u00a009 POLAND <\/strong><\/p>\n \u00a0We all said NO \u2013 and we were all RIGHT!<\/p>\n \u00a010 BELGIUM <\/strong><\/p>\n \u00a0We all said YES \u2013 and we were all RIGHT!<\/p>\n \u00a011 MALTA<\/strong><\/p>\n \u00a0I was the only one to say YES \u2013 and I was wrong!<\/p>\n \u00a012 ALBANIA<\/strong><\/p>\n I was the only one to say NO \u2013 and I was wrong!<\/p>\n \u00a013 GREECE<\/strong><\/p>\n \u00a0We all said YES \u2013 and we were all RIGHT!<\/p>\n \u00a014 PORTUGAL<\/strong><\/p>\n \u00a0We all said NO \u2013 and we were all wrong!<\/p>\n \u00a015 F.Y.R. MACEDONIA<\/strong><\/p>\n \u00a0We all said NO \u2013 and we were all RIGHT!<\/p>\n \u00a016 BELARUS <\/strong><\/p>\n \u00a0Only Milija said YES \u2013 and he was RIGHT!<\/p>\n \u00a017 ICELAND<\/strong><\/p>\n \u00a0We all said YES \u2013 and we were all RIGHT!<\/p>\n \u00a0So, that\u2019s 6\/10 for me, isn\u2019t it.\u00a0 A moderate prediction!\u00a0 I\u2019d like to say that I\u2019ll do better on Thursday \u2013 but that\u2019s the better semi-final and the songs are much stronger. ‘Team Oslo’ are disappointed that Slovakia and Estonia didn’t get through.\u00a0 Latvia deserved not to get through – she sounded really flat in the arena.\u00a0<\/p>\n Team Olso, out\u2026<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" Did the \u2018napkin of death\u2019 do its job?
