An lengthy\u00a0sequence will see all a participants parade through the arena. This is them metaphorically building a bridge between the artists\u2019 green room at the back of the arena and the stage.<\/p>\n<p>There is the (now) obligatory reprise of Rise Like A Phoenix, which gets a change of tempo and an extended performance. The arena looks stunning on the screen \u2013 can\u2019t wait to see to tonight!<\/p>\n<p>An enjoyable start, and the three female hosts will get the proceedings underwaay<\/p>\n<p><strong>01 Moldova<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>An energetic performance, with backing dancers dressed as sexy cops \u2013 only at Eurovision \u2013 or at a stag or hen do! \ud83d\ude00<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Eduard Romanyuta - I Want Your Love (Moldova) Impression of 2nd rehearsal\" width=\"580\" height=\"326\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/fyeRmfBdNhg?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><strong>02 Armenia<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The vocal was a bit pitchy. You will like how it is presented probably more than the song. Nice touch as the six vocalists stand on a map to literally mark their territory. Still a hot mess, can\u2019t see it getting through.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Genealogy - Face The Shadow (Armenia) Second Rehearsal\" width=\"580\" height=\"326\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/XoKX4en8Kvw?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><strong>03 Belgium<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>A great vocal from Lo\u00efc on this song, with some \u2018interesting choreography. Mind you, you might want to avoid Lo\u00efc\u2019s creepy stare in places! This one\u2019s a sleeper, we think. Will do well \u2013 there aren\u2019t really that many songs that might capture the younger audience.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Lo\u00efc Nottet - Rhythm Inside (Belgium) Impression of second rehearsal\" width=\"580\" height=\"326\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/E_POxPSYOWc?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><strong>04 The Netherlands<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Some weird lighting and staging for this one. Poor Trijntje hasn\u2019t exactly been well lit. I still like the song, not sure that the presentation adds anything to the song. I thought is was going through, not sure now!<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Trijntje Oosterhuis - Walk Along (The Netherlands) Impression of second rehearsal\" width=\"580\" height=\"326\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/sEBeLw2xO_I?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><strong>05 Finland<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>A suitably lo-fi performance to accompany the mood of the track. Some applause for it here in the press centre<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Pertti Kurikan Nimip\u00e4iv\u00e4t - Aina Mun Pit\u00e4\u00e4 (Finland) Second Rehearsal\" width=\"580\" height=\"326\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/Wu8JuhAd7Mk?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><strong>06 Greece<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>There is indeed a wind machine! And a pretty frock! I know my Eurovision.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Maria Elena Kyriakou - One Last Breath (Greece) Impression of second rehearsal\" width=\"580\" height=\"326\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/voouPZFBVJs?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><strong>07 Estonia<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The best so far. Sassy and confident staging \u2013 you will like the effect of the shadows on stage (not The shadows, their shadows rather!). If they don\u2019t get too pitchy and flat this really will fly through. Great reaction in the press centre, judging by the applause the best so far!<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Elina Born &amp; Stig R\u00e4sta - Goodbye To Yesterday (Estonia) Impression of 2nd rehearsal\" width=\"580\" height=\"326\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/hwqvqkhQe3M?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><strong>08 Macedonia<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>There are indeed autumn leaves falling in the background for the Macedonian entry. Daniel Kajmakoski is also ably assisted on backing vocals by what looks like Boyz II Men! It looks and sound goods. Like I said earlier, nothing much like it in this semi, so I think it\u2019ll get through.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Daniel Kajmakoski - Autmn Leaves (F.Y.R. Macedonia) Second Rehearsal\" width=\"580\" height=\"326\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/0Dld7KL9ULI?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><strong>09 Serbia<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Blimey. Serbian singer Bojana gives it some welly! It\u2019s our first big-hands-in-the-air type of tune. 10 out of 10 for effort, but perhaps it\u2019s all a bit too much, with masks flying and vecro ripping outfits&#8230; Click\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/8EbuuNSxGb8\">here<\/a>\u00a0to watch.<\/p>\n<p><strong>10 Hungary<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Some nice visuals and good effort on the presentation. Finishes nicely, but somewhere in the middle my mind starts to wander. Click\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/JoMzg0Krsj8\" target=\"_blank\">here<\/a>\u00a0to watch.<\/p>\n<p><strong>11 Belarus<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Uzari gives us some of his best rock poses in this performance &#8211; fist clenching with conviction. Violinist Maimuna is a dead ringer for Mylene Klass! Maybe she\u2019s moonlighting! Sounds better with the performance than without, for me. Which is a good thing<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Uzari &amp; Maimuna - Time (Belarus) Impression of 2nd Rehearsal\" width=\"580\" height=\"326\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/fhJjfaES94M?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><strong>12 Russia<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>As I said yesterday, it\u2019s hard not to be cynical about the sentiment of the song. It\u2019ll be the Marmite song (perhaps with Finland) \u2013 love it, or hate it. Love it because the song is actually really, really good, or hate it because of what happens beyond the fringes of the contest. For some it\u2019s a case of oil and water \u2013 and the mix can\u2019t work. For me it\u2019s a case of Marmite. I like Marmite.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Polina Gagarina - A Million Voices (Russia) Impression of 2nd Rehearsal\" width=\"580\" height=\"326\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/9FziuRFZJfI?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><strong>13 Denmark<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The staging is as dynamic as the song \u2013 it looks great on telly. Good energy and familiar (and cool) vibes will see this through \u2013 and again, there are very few songs such as this will to appeal to the younger audience.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Anti Social Media - The Way You Are (Denmark) Impression of Second Rehearsal\" width=\"580\" height=\"326\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/psm6HAOjTxs?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><strong>14 Albania<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Reminds me of the song \u201cApricot Stone\u201d from Oslo in 2010 \u2013 but at a slower tempo. Might be one for you to refresh your drink and top-up the snacks! Nice, but nice doesn\u2019t win Eurovision.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Elhaida Dani - I&#039;m Alive (Albania) Impression of 2nd rehearsal\" width=\"580\" height=\"326\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/hDfAUPvkELQ?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><strong>15 Romania<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Good vocals. Performance is a bit static, but the camera angles and backdrop visuals add a poignancy to the performance. I think is going through, Ruxandra!<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Voltaj - De La Capat\/ All Over Again (Romania) Impression of second rehearsal\" width=\"580\" height=\"326\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/Z7QeiOO_ebI?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><strong>16 Georgia<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Gary Westhead, you will like this performance! \ud83d\ude00 Visually dynamic. Nina Sublatti gives is some welly for Georgia, and her boots are made for walking into the final\u2026<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Nina Sublatti - Warrior (Georgia) Impression of second rehearsal\" width=\"580\" height=\"326\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/ze1yY-PIBmo?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>I think it\u2019s going to be a great show. Looks amazing on the telly \u2013 should look even better in the arena (although we do lose some of the intimacy of the television presentation.
