Academic Writing Research & Development Group

The Academic Writing Research & Development Group (AWRDG) is an open forum for all staff interested in the theory and practice of students’ academic writing.

There will be meetings of the AWRDG on the following dates:

    Tuesday 1st April – 12 – 2pm
    The locus of responsibility for student writing: collaboration or surrogacy

    Tuesday 6th May – 2-4pm
    Responding to student work – correction, annotation and concepts of error in student writing

    Friday 6th June – 12-2pm
    Extended writing – discussing dissertations (tutor and student experiences)

I am the Research Development Officer in the CLTR (Centre for Learning & Teaching Research) where I have worked part-time since January 2005. In this role I develop activities and resources to encourage and support colleagues across the institution to research their pedagogic theory and practice.
