Social networking websites

For those of you interested in recent developments in social networking websites, such as Ning and Facebook, here are two applications which may be of interest:

Friends of Mister Roy is a network set up by our Director of Corporate Marketing, Roy Bayfield, to provide staff with an opportunity to experiment with the facilities on offer in Ning.

Classroom 2.0 is a social networking site for those interested in the practical application of Web 2.0 and collaborative technologies in learning. The site especially hopes that those who are “beginners” will find this a supportive community and a comfortable place to start being part of the digital dialog. The majority of active participants in this network are in primary and secondary education in the USA, but many of the ideas being discussed are applicable in part to the UK HE environment.
