Boxing Day Blues?

The panic is over! Christmas is done, Father Christmas’s guts are much diminished (if that sounds like a step too far take a look at my last post and all will become clear), and everyone has returned to their normal stations around the house.

But what does an English Lit student get for Christmas? The complete Sherlock Holmes of course! Because Benedict Cumberbatch graces our screens once more in the new year and personally I can’t wait…

Oh, also Batman, always Batman. Because everyone loves Batman (or he beats you up).

‘Til next time folks, most likely different bat-time but same bat-place!

How on earth did that happen?

It’s the time of year for finishing off the last few assignments before escaping to gorge yourself on Christmas goodies, so I thought I’d share my work plan!

Step 1: Read the assignment, normally a few days after the last one was finished.

Step 2: Spend a few days considering the question, and decide whether or not it is interesting. If it is interesting, begin research, if it isn’t, ignore it until…

Step 3: It’s the night before the deadline, so it’s time to write! But not right away, first comes a few hours of procrastination, mostly consisting of youtube and taste of awesome.

Step 4: At around 4-7am it’s time to write, so the essay gets hammered out in a few hours. This goes a lot easier if the question was interesting and I’ve been reading for a few weeks, but it never takes more than a 5 hours to finish an essay from this point even if it’s the single dullest question in existence.

Step 5: Run home, shower, run back, hand in the essay, and get some much needed rest!

And this is what will happened last Friday and will happen next Friday, except there will be no much needed rest because I have another radio show 8-10pm next Friday… So tune in and join in the fun that results from a night of working hard instead of sleeping!

Travel to play

Ohhhh my it has been a while since I last posted!

The reason for this is simple; life is hectic and mad! Two more assignments before Christmas to get done, but they’ve been nice and spread them out one a week so very much do-able.

Hope anyone who listened in to our Punk/Rock Mixer on L:39 Radio enjoyed it, and actually because of the radio this blog is actually being typed up to Cotton Eyed Joe which is pretty Epic.

This weekend I was off in the lovely city of Cardiff indulging in nerdy behaviour of the most dire kind… Which was really fun and definitely a needed break from panicked reading and writing. I had a snake that could speak and read books while we all discussed what to do next, I wish he was real so he could do my assignments. Clever snake.

But seriously, I am quite clear about the distinction between fantasy and reality… I mean, thinking that I really was a Tiefling Sorcerer would be crazy.
