Last week I went to the TAG Swap Shop at Uclan. The event was organised by the TAG team and attended by over 18 JISC funded projects across the country.
Initially the projects introduced themselves and asked to highlight any issues that we have experienced and what issues we are hoping to explore at the event. The remainder of the day was dedicated to “world cafe and speed dating”. Here we were able to speak to colleagues who were working on similar projects.
6 areas were identified for discussion -Student Engagement, Staff Engagement, Platform used, Content (creating content / resources or encouraging students to produce content), Sustainability and Miscellaneous.
This part of the day was the most beneficial as I was able to talk and exchange ideas with colleagues across the University sector. I came away with new ideas and concepts that could be used within our project. The most notable observation was that every University in attendance was trying to engage their students using web and media and were trying the same web content that we are hoping to apply to our site. It was nice to know that we are on the right lines!
