Towards the end of August, Georgia, a current MRES student at Edge Hill University and who is specializing in animation on the course and who is about to finish in September. Gave a screening of her work that Georgia has been undertaking as part of her MRES Course.<\/p>\n

The screening was not straightforward a screening as the work shown was related to the research Georgia is undertaking as part of her studies. The work shown consisted of the same CGI clip played several times, but each time it was shown, the colour palette of the work was different. After each time the version of the same CGI clip was played, the audience had to answer a set of questions relating to whether the colour impacted them emotionally and how they assessed the outcome of the narrative of the short CGI clip. As in whether the clip felt ominous, happy, sad, etc. The CGI was done such that only a little was given away in terms of narrative, and the viewer had to use what was presented, including the use of colour, to decide whether it changed their assessment of the outcome of the narrative.<\/p>\n

The nature of the screening made it fascinating in terms of how animation can be used as a source of research and practice-based research and well done to Georgia.<\/p>\n

Georgia undertook and completed the BA Animation course with flying colours – so it has been great to see how her work has developed from her BA Animation work to what she has been doing on the MRES Course.<\/p>\n\n\n
