Dream is the latest madness in landmark sculpture race that is currently taking place. It looks like St Helens council was trying to imitate the Angel of the North or all the other giants statues that seems to appear everywhere.

I saw this massive things about two months ago while on the M62 and I forgot completely about it until I recently hear it has been nominated for some sculpture award.

Dream is according to the official website : is a 20 metre high girl’s head with her eyes closed, seemingly in a dream-like state, resting on a plinth bearing the inscription “Dream Sutton Manor” inspired by the small, circular “tally” each miner carried as a means of identification.

You might rember my post about chester Zoo. I went there the other week-end with some friend and really enjoy going there. So imagine my surprised when I read in the echo this article:

FIVE thousand people were evacuated from Chester Zoo this afternoon – and hundreds more turned away – when 30 chimpanzees escaped from their enclosure.

The primates broke out of their secure confines into a keepers’ area where their food is prepared.

Staff, experiencing one of the busiest days of the year, were forced to shut the 110-acre site as a precaution.

They then attempted to round up the animals, described as very strong and intelligent.

A zoo spokeswoman insisted members of the public were never at risk.

An Irish family visiting Chester was among the visitors in the zoo when the animals escaped at 12.40pm.

They said: “Everybody was told to go because chimpanzees had escaped. We didn’t really know what was going on but it was quite scary.

“We were just having lunch and we were told to go into the restaurants and shops, where we stayed for about 45 minutes.

I am very impressed that there was 5,000 people at the Zoo. It is a very big place so you never get the feeling there are so many people. If you fancy visiting the zoo make sure there are no chimp behind you !

Ever heard of extreme ironing? No, well now you have. It is what it says, it’s all about ironing in extreme conditon. (Yes really I am not making that one up!)  Can you wear the clothes after? Well I doubt it cause it involves ironing on top of mountain or while cycling or even at 5,000 metres high. Don’t believe me? Well have a look at the video:

Unbilievable isn’t it? There is even a website recording all of the british record and showing pictures of all the great extreme ironing achievement.

Go to http://www.extremeironing.com/ for more details or info! Fancy creating a society!

Everyone is probably doing the same thing at the moment, either writing some assignments or preparing for the upcoming exam. I have spent the last few weeks in front of my computer respectively writing about constructivism, assessment for learning, creative curriculum … Anyway I am not going to start I am sure you have enough to write about yourself.

Today while doing some research on-line to find out more about assessment I was rather surprised by the suggestions google made.

Will starting to write “could” a number of suggestions appeared including “Could you eat an elephant” (see below)

Could you eat an elephant?

It looks like there is a wide range of people looking for website on this topic in the world… But why? Surely they don’t need google to tell them that they can’t?

Ah the joy of doing research!!

The Moscow state circus visited the city over the Easter holiday. I could not resist buying a ticket when I saw the big top on Sefton park one morning. It was amazing I was a bit baffled by the Russian accent of the ring master and the Rasputin theme but overall it was just brilliant.

It all started with a cheesy eurovision like dance of all the performers with some 80’s tune, BRILLIANT. There was disappointedly no lions or tigers to be seen but the clown and acrobats were fantastic. My favorite act has to be the amazing tight rope walker who just defied gravity.

Unfortunately you won’t be able to go as the circus is back on the move to New Brighton but you could join edge hill circus society as an alternative.
