accom_keys.jpgNo I am not, I luckily live in a lovely flat in the city centre and I am not looking to move out.

I read the Hi forum and quite a lot of you are looking for a place to live for next year. If you are lucky you already have a room in the Halls of residence on campus or you are waiting to receive the letter once you get your result on the 14th August.

Some lucky or unlucky people live within the 15 miles radius of uni and are not able to get accommodation on campus. They would have therefore received what is being described on the forum byJess, Riley Deanoo, Leanne as the “letter of death”.   If you did (d0), you can put your name down on the waiting list and you will know on the 22nd if you do get a room. Slightly risky and in my opinion too much stress for little reward.

If you have received the so called letter or didn’t get a place in the halls don’t worry there are plenty of shared houses in Ormskirk. Or you can apply for a place at St Andrews Garden in Liverpool. So when you are looking for a place to live this is what I wish I had asked but didn’t know about it at the time:

Is the rent inclusive of bills, council tax, internet?  Weekly or monthly? Can  you pay a retainer over the summer or do you have to pay full rent.  How long is the contract for? How much is the deposit? Does the deposit include communal parts or just your room? Who else lives in the house?

The student accommodation team will be running workshops and also have a list of recommended proprieties in the area. It is stressful to look for a place to live but also great fun cause you get to see all sort of houses.
