Freshers Week!

Fresher’s week … the most exciting week of the university year? Probably! Not much beats freshers week i have to say! I absolutely loved freshers week, from moving all my stuff in on welcome sunday to the final event of the week. Its the time when you meet your new friends within halls or for those who are getting a house in Ormskirk meeting the people you will be living with and also with people on your course, the week helps you to understand more about your course and depending on which course your doing you might only have to attend induction classes.

So you must all be etching for the 18th/19th of September to come round, depending on whether you are living on campus or not and I dont blame you. After reading your ideas in the forum hopefully they will be followed through and you will all have an amazing week. Anyway I am writing this blog as I applied to be part of the freshers team and i have been successful! Woo! haha. I attend two training days in September just before fresher’s week and will be sorted for the week. So if you have any questions or queries about freshers week or anything related with that first week dont hesitate to comment on this blog! Blog Soon.

Graduation for some

Yestrerday, today and for the rest of the week is a very important week for most third year students (or those who have just finished their degree) as it is possibly the last time they will come to Edge Hill and they are no longer students, time to enter into the real world, decide what they want to do with their degree and plan their career path.

Today I was lucky enough to go along to one of the allocated graduations (there is three each day) They whole system was very organised, students (graduands as they were called) had to arrive two hours before in order to register, have their robes fitted and take them all important photographs! Each student was given two tickets for the ceremony however students could bring other family or friends with them as Edge Hill kindly allowed people to watch the ceremony in one of the lecture halls. It was a really good day and the atmosphere was great, everyone with smiling faces, catching up with old friends!

It made me realise how soon this day (hopefully) will come around for me! September is so near its scary and I’m sure my second year will go just as fast as my first if not faster. Anyways ill leave the prospect of graduation with you all as its quite a way of for you all yet, youve probably never thought about it really! Hope your all having a great summer! Blog soon.

plans for summer?!

So for many of you your exams and coursework deadlines will have finished/been completed and you should be having a well deserved break?! Hopefully that is the case!  Well for me I feel as though I’m giving myself a very very long break as I have done very little since finishing my first year.

Last year when I had finished college I found some work straight away and worked as often as possible it was the worst job in my life! lol ( I was in a factory packing posters for companies such as the carphone warehouse and Iceland) It wasn’t the most exciting and thrilling job I’ve ever had but I suppose the money paid for my long awaited nights out in freshers week and a whole new wardrobe to bring too!

This year however I have admittedly become lazy, I have a job in a social club back home but I’m not as eager to work as I was last year. Hopefully I might get some temp work soon. But for now I will start with the summer reading I have been given for two of my modules next year. How exciting?! Haha. Anyway I hope your all enjoying your summer, your plans have got to be better than mine and you are hopefully getting excited for coming to Edge Hill!? Ahhh you must be! Blog soon.
