Time to move out

Well the time has come and I am so sad today is when my contract in halls ends. I’ve been putting off packing up my room basically because I really realllllllyy don’t want to leave my room. Rowan no. 6 was great and I had such an amazing time in halls and the memories I will never forget. The year has gone far too fast and the only advice I would give is to make sure you enjoy every minute of your time in halls.

Don’t be worried about making friends or being with people you don’t think you will get along with and don’t be worried about whether you get the accommodation you chose because most people are happy no matter where they end up living. I know September seems like ages away but it will definitely be worth the wait. Freshers week is the time to settle in with the people in your accommodation, learn more about your course and get to know the campus and Ormskirk.

So yesterday i went back to uni, packed up my room and carted it all back home for the summer in preparation for next year’s freshers (you!) So don’t be scared, worried or anxious … be excited and happy with your choice to come to Edge Hill. Blog soon

3rd June

Well, last night of the bar as a first year! What an amazing night! The bar has a ‘last night of the bar’ night at the end of each term so December and March usually, they are always really good nights, lots of people attend and everyone really enjoys themselves. However this night was the final night out for third years at Edge Hill and also my last night in the bar as a first year!

We went out early (ish) people aren’t usually allowed into the bar area after 10.30 on a Wednesday night but on last night of the bar nights its 9.30. We spent some time in the bar area and eventually after a few drinks we plucked up the courage to head into the Venue to throw some shapes haha or at least try to! The Venue soon became really busy, but not busy that you couldn’t move or ended up with any drinks spilt down ya! So I went out with the girls I live with and met up with a few third years . The music was great the atmosphere was great and it has to have been one of my favourite nights at Edge Hill.

The final song was ‘Never Forget’ by Take That, and everyone sung and danced along. The third years got on the stage and enjoyed their last few minutes as uni students. The night was really good slightly emotional as people wouldn’t be seeing their friends over the summer but I return in September and can’t wait. So roll on September and more good times as a second year.
