Secondary Flexible PGCE October 24, 2007

Posted by Roy Bayfield in: Open Days, flexible pgce, trackback

The flexible PGCE from Edge Hill University covers a wide range of subjects and allows you to learn what you need, when and how you need it, through the most convenient route – full-time, part-time or via distance learning. (There is always a block placement involved, even in the part-time routes.)

One big appeal of these programmes is that your existing experience and qualifications are taken into account, so you don’t have to learn what you already know. Most of the study on our flexible PGCE can be done at your own pace around work and home commitments, within a maximum three year period.

There are no fees to pay for this flexible route through teacher training, and you may be entitled to a bursary – you could even receive a ‘golden hello’ payment when you start work.

Some students have used the flexible PGCE as a way to change career. Bear in mind we can help with filling gaps in your knowledge – so your particular degree subject need not be a barrier either to getting into the teaching of a different subject.

The subjects available on our flexible PGCE course are:

Flexible PGCE Business Education (14-19)
Flexible PGCE Design and Technology (11-16)
Flexible PGCE English (11-16)
Flexible PGCE History (11-16)
Flexible PGCE ICT (11-16)
Flexible PGCE Mathematics (11-16)
Flexible PGCE Music (11-16)
Flexible PGCE Modern Foreign Languages (11-16)
Flexible PGCE Religious Education (11-16)
Flexible PGCE Science (11-16)
