Learning Services has officially launched Uni Skills #library, our new academic support package designed to help students study effectively and ensure that you get the best possible marks by learning in a style that is most suited to you!

Throughout University you will be expected to develop and apply essential academic skills to your work such as referencing, critical analysis and academic writing. We understand that everyone’s learning journey is unique and everyone prefers different learning styles and techniques. Therefore Learning Services provides support through a variety of channels to help you enhance your academic skills in a way that suits you. Last year, this included our Steps to Success workshop programme, our ‘assignment help’ webpages containing online guides and advice, student led drop-ins, face to face discussions at the Ask desk and much more!

We wanted to find the best way to communicate all of the different avenues of academic support available, so you only need to go to one place to choose the type of support that’s right for you. Which is why we have now brought all of our academic support activities together under one umbrella term – we are calling this Uni Skills #library and this will be your one-stop shop for essential academic support!

Our academic support includes:

  • WorkshopsUniskills workshop
  • Interactive Online tookits
  • Online guides and workbooks
  • Student-led drop-ins
  • Face to face support at the Ask Desk
  • Sessions within your course
  • Peer support through our fantastic team of Student Advisors

New to our academic support offer this year are our Uni Skills online toolkits! Each toolkit acts like an online tutorial to guide you through core academic skills using a combination of videos, audio clips, animations, quizzes, practical advice and handy tips! The toolkits can be accessed through our Uni Skills webpages or from your subject resources tab in Learning Edge.
