As we are nearly finished with our first ‘academic’ week of
uni, I think the majority of us are now settled in properly and know where we
are heading to for each lesson. The first week is always a difficult one due to
people getting lost around campus or, if you’re not happy, changing subjects
around. However, if any of you are not happy or have any problems, please don’t
hesitate to ask any of us for help!
I started this week with just introductions to the modules
and meeting my new lecturers. I also had my first workshop about my
dissertation : \ it’s going to be a hard year doing the 10,000 word assignment!
I’m basing my dissertation on surveillance as it’s a subject I am confident
with and have some background knowledge too.
During the summer I was working 30+hour weeks and gained some more familiarity
about my dissertation topic – which was very helpful!
This is important even during your first year because you
can start to gain knowledge on your favourite/strongest subjects as you may be
choosing them to base your dissertation on in a few years.
If any of you still need help with finding lecture rooms or have
any general questions then we are all here to help. Hope to see you all out
Wednesday nights in the venue!
