I will be sure to send all my friends a picture of an empty room this Christmas.
I found a box of blank postcards in the Library – they’re my new emergency blog post.
Looking at the postmark – wonder what Ms Hale was doing in Brighton at 4.30am on the day before Christmas Eve?
I noticed that and wondered whether it might be New Brighton? Would the southern one be postmarked Brighton & Hove? Neither makes much sense.
Do we know if this erm..festive room is one from Edge Hill?
It’s likely this was one of the rooms on the old Durning Road site in Edge Hill, Liverpool. Postcards were strangely popular throughout the first half of the 20th century and featured often mundane photos.
There’s on written to Miss Hale featuring – without explanation – a portrait of King Charles!

That room needs a poltergeist!
